The short version
- There are no accounts and no sign-up.
- Your calculator answers and checklist stay in your own browser. We never see them.
- We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and only gives us totals.
- If you email us, we use your message only to reply.
Who we are
Survivalify (survivalify.com) is a free home-preparedness guide for UK households. For this notice, “we” means Survivalify, the controller of any personal data described here. You can reach us at hello@survivalify.com.
Your calculator answers stay on your device
When you use the calculator or Create my kit, your answers (for example how many people and pets live with you), the items you tick and the amounts you already have are saved in your browser's local storage, so your list is still there next time. This data stays on your device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else.
To delete it, use the button below, or clear the site data for survivalify.com in your browser settings.
Visit statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages are useful. It does not use cookies or local storage and does not track you across sites. We only see totals, such as page views, referring sites, country, and device or browser type. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: keeping the site useful and working well.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. In some cases Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie for this. We do not use this data to identify you.
If you email us
Messages sent to hello@survivalify.com are passed on by Cloudflare Email Routing to the inboxes we use to read and answer them, including Google Gmail. We use your email address and message only to reply to you and to fix anything you point out. We keep them only as long as we need to deal with your message, and we never add you to a mailing list.
Planned: adverts and affiliate links
To keep Survivalify free, we plan to add adverts (Google AdSense) and Amazon affiliate links (as a member of the Amazon Associates programme) in the future. Neither is live yet. Adverts may use cookies, and we will ask for your consent where the law requires it. We will update this notice before either one goes live.
Where data is processed
Cloudflare and Google may process data outside the UK. When they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to data portability. Email hello@survivalify.com and we will reply within one month. Because we hold so little, most requests are quick.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, phone 0303 123 1113. We would be grateful for the chance to sort it out first.
Children
Survivalify is written for adults planning for their household. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this notice
If anything changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
